AI conversation practice that gets you forming your own replies

Recognising an answer is useful. Producing one is a different kind of practice. Kila gives you a place to respond in your learning language, work through corrections and practise again with words that matter to you.

Choose a small conversational goal

Before a practice session, decide what you want to express: introduce yourself, describe a routine or explain a preference. Keep the goal small enough that you can attempt it with words you already know. These are ideas for practice rather than a catalogue of fixed app scenarios.

Reply to the question, add one detail and ask a question back. This creates a back-and-forth exchange rather than a memorised speech. When you do not know a word, try expressing a simpler version of the idea.

Use corrections to make another attempt

Kila supports AI conversations and written language corrections. After reviewing feedback, make a new sentence with the same pattern. That second attempt gives you a reason to apply the correction rather than just read it.

Pronunciation exercises work separately with a target word or phrase. They help you focus on how you say something, while conversation practice focuses on deciding what to say next. This distinction matters: written grammar feedback is not a complete assessment of your spoken language.

A practice partner for beginners and returning learners

Beginners can work with short, familiar replies. Returning learners can use a conversation to find vocabulary they understand but struggle to recall. Kila supports language-specific skill settings, learning progress and interactive exercises alongside conversations.

AI can make mistakes and should be treated as a practice aid. For an exam requirement, a formal translation or a point you cannot resolve, consult a qualified teacher or another reliable source. There is no guaranteed time to fluency.

Continue with the language you are learning

German, Spanish, French and Italian are supported in the conversation and pronunciation functionality. The language guides below suggest sentence patterns and ways to practise that are specific to each language.

Kila is available for iPhone. Check the App Store and the app for current subscription options and usage limits; this page does not promise unlimited conversations or a fixed number of free sessions.

Questions about AI conversation practice

Is this a conversation with another learner?

The conversation practice described here uses AI. It is different from a lesson with a human teacher or a call with a language-exchange partner.

Do I need to be fluent to start?

No. Start with a short answer and a familiar topic. Beginner skill settings and other learning exercises let you practise the building blocks alongside conversation.

Does every conversation include pronunciation scoring?

Conversation, written corrections and pronunciation exercises are different features. This page does not promise pronunciation scoring on every live conversation.
