Learn Italian through phrases you can make your own
Use Italian to express a preference, ask a question or describe your day. Kila combines AI conversations, interactive exercises and writing feedback to help you move from recognising words to putting them together yourself.
Start with a request and a response
A short exchange gives a new phrase a purpose. “Vorrei un caffè, per favore” means “I would like a coffee, please”. Change the item in the request, then practise a polite follow-up. For introductions, “Mi chiamo …” (“My name is …”) is another frame you can make your own.
These are suggested practice examples, not a list of guaranteed in-app scenarios. In Kila, combine interactive learning exercises with a short written response. Try retrieving the words yourself before looking back at the example.
Pay attention to the words that change together
Italian articles, nouns and adjectives often work together. Compare “un libro nuovo” (“a new book”) and “due libri nuovi” (“two new books”). Changing the number affects more than one word, so practise the whole phrase rather than just the noun.
Use writing feedback to examine where a sentence needs adjustment. Then write a second example that uses the same idea. For verbs, start with forms you can immediately use to talk about yourself, such as “parlo” (“I speak”), before expanding the range of people and situations.
Give pronunciation its own practice time
In Italian, a doubled consonant can change a word’s meaning. Compare “pala” (“shovel”) and “palla” (“ball”). Short pronunciation exercises let you focus on saying a target clearly without also having to invent a long response.
Bring the skills together in an AI conversation: answer, add a detail and ask something back. If you are an experienced beginner or a returning learner, aim to explain a preference or a plan in a few connected sentences. Kila’s progress tracking helps you see the practice you have completed and choose what to revisit.
